How To Deep Clean Your Sofa?

Cleaning your sofa might sound like a lot of work but it really is easier than you think. You just need to know which ingredients to use and how to apply the proper cleaning methods.

Today, I will teach you exactly how to do it – without damaging the fabric!

First, Check The Tag

You need to identify the fabric of your sofa which will help you in identifying the cleaning method that needs to be used. I suggest you check the tag.

  • If it says W then you can use water when cleaning your sofa
  • If it says S then you can only use a solvent-based cleaner
  • If it says SW then you can use both water and a solvent-based cleaner
  • If it says X then you can only use a vacuum cleaner and you need to avoid any cleaners.

Let’s Start Cleaning

Now that you know whether you can use water or solvent-based cleaner on your sofa it’s time to start cleaning it. Start off with vacuuming your sofa in order to get rid of debris, impurities, and crumbs. Then continue with sprinkling baking soda all over your couch. It will get rid of any smells and will deodorize it. Let it sit for a few hours then vacuum the powder.

If you notice any stains on your couch you need to mix a teaspoon of liquid soap, a tablespoon of white vinegar, around 250ml of warm water, and a teaspoon of baking soda. Mix the ingredients well and dip a clean cloth in the mixture. Continue with rubbing the stain with it. After you covered all the affected areas you need to “rinse” them with a damp cloth.

Then, allow your sofa to dry completely, and just like that it’s clean!
