If your kids tend to like drawing on the walls whenever you are not looking then this article is perfect for you because I will show you exactly how to get rid of those annoying crayon marks!
I have plenty of different techniques you can use all of which are effective and you can choose the one that looks the most appealing to you. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of hacks for removing crayon marks on the internet that do not work – and I also wanted to touch a bit on that too so you know what not to do.
What Doesn’t Work!
Let’s start off with the hacks that do not work and will waste your time.
– Using Toothpaste
There are plenty of people that say this hack works, however, in my opinion, it’s a huge waste of time and it doesn’t work!
– Using Vinegar
Vinegar is this magical all-natural product people use for cleaning – and I use it as well, however, it won’t get rid of crayon marks. I tried it a few times but it doesn’t work!
What Works!
Now let’s focus on what works and how to easily remove those crayon marks!
– Using A Blow Dryer
This is super effective and I recommend you give it a try. Grab your blow dryer and heat up the crayon marks on the wall. Then wipe them with a damp cloth (dampen it in hot soapy water, not just plain water).
– Using Ammonia
Either use ammonia or an ammonia-based cleaner. Spray the product on the affected area then scrub with a cloth. Some glass cleaners have ammonia in them so check yours to see if it will work!
– Using Baking Soda
This is one of my favourite ways to remove crayon marks from walls. Simply mix equal parts of water and baking soda so you create a paste. Then scoop the paste with a sponge and start scrubbing the crayon marks. Continue scrubbing until you are happy with the result.
Then, you need to remove the baking soda paste. I like to do that by dampening a cloth in plain water then wiping the paste until it’s completely removed!
